Real Housewives of New Jersey Star Teresa Giudice will not let her husband, Joe, go to jail, and RadarOnline reports she will be by his side when he awaits his fate in the courtroom on May 28th, 2013. On the 28th the judge will set Joe’s final court date. “Joe has rejected all plea deals,” his attorney tells Radar. “He is being singled out we believe because of his celebrity status and we have turned down all offers from the state because they want him to serve four to five years in state prison.”
As we previously reported, Joe has been charged with assuming the identity of his brother, Pietro, in June 2010, in order to obtain a driver’s license after his own was suspended following a DUI five months earlier. Officials claim as part of the application Joe fraudulently used his younger brother’s marriage and birth certificates.
“Teresa will be a witness if Joe needs her to be but no matter what she completely believes him and she doesn’t want him to go to jail,” Feinstein says.
Even though Bravo is almost wrapped on Season 5 of RHONJ, Feinstein didn’t rule out the possibility of cameras in the courtroom. “The state of New Jersey allows cameras if the Judge gives permission and the press has an absolute right to cover the proceedings. But Joe deserves the fairest possible jury and people already know about him since he is on television so I think it will take a long time to select jurors,” Feinstein says.
