News broke Sunday night that Kim Richards’ ex-husband Monty Brinson passed away from cancer. While the Richards sisters including big sister Kathy Hilton have not always gotten along, Radar Online has reported that Kyle and Kathy have put their differences aside to help Kim mourn her loss. A source also told the site that the Hiltons are paying for the funeral expenses.

“Kathy has stepped forward to pay for Brinson’s memorial and funeral, as concerns for Kim’s sobriety grow following the tragic loss.”

The source continued, “Even though Kim knew Monty was dying, she had prayed and hope for a miracle. Monty had lived twelve months beyond what doctors had said was the time he had left. Kathy is stepping in and taking care of paying for a memorial/funeral service. Those plans are still being made, but Kim won’t need to worry about anything.”

On the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans have witnessed the rocky relationship between Kim and Kyle. While it is unclear as to where the sisters stand with their relationship the insider added, “She has been in touch with Kim since finding out Monty died. They are in a better place than just a few months ago.”

Kim’s brother-in-law Rick Hilton was the one to share the news via Instagram. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.

  1. Does reuniting mean being in the same room at the same time? Doubt they will be all sisterly love because of this.

  2. The Hiltons are paying for the funeral? Wasn’t Monty wealthy in his own right? Why wouldn’t his family pay for the funeral or is this just a publicity grab by the Hiltons in an effort to look positive for a change.

  3. Sometimes the tragic sadness of death & the realization that life is so short, does help to bring even the worst of enemies to a peaceful place & to forgive & forget. Don’t Know, but hope this could happen for these sisters. Monty was a good man, may his soul rest in peace.

  4. I’m confused. I don’t really like being judgemental, but he knew for a long time that his time was nearing…why wouldn’t these plans be made and paid for? Why leave it to the grief stricken to plan AND pay for your service? Seems a bit odd to me. Or was that Kim and Monty’s connection…codependents being dependent.
