RHONJ star Teresa Giudice revealed in her new book Standing Strong that she underwent IVF treatment years ago to try for a baby boy with her incarcerated husband Joe Giudice.
“I’ve never told anyone this, but before we had Audriana — our fourth daughter — Joe and I did in-vitro fertilization with the intent of gender selection, in order to try for a son,” Teresa wrote in her new memoir. “I thought about it for a while. I weighed the pros and cons. Then, eventually, I said to myself, if this is something my husband really wants, then I should at least try it for him.”
Teresa talked about how three male embryos were implanted but the process didn’t work. “I was disappointed, because I’d been through so much for no reason, and because it was so expensive,” Teresa said.
Joe was also frustrated by the failure and ended up refusing to pay the fertility clinic for the outstanding amount that was owed, which forced the clinic to put a lien on the reality star’s home. “For the record, I paid the money back when I got home from prison,” Teresa added.
