RHONJ Recap: Teresa Giudice Returns Home

After almost two years, the Real Housewives of New Jersey returned Sunday night and we saw Teresa Giudice return home after serving 11-months behind bars. Needless to say, it was a pretty emotional episode.

Throughout the episode, Melissa and Joe Gorga worried if their request to have Teresa come to their house for Christmas Eve would be approved. Finally, Teresa’s lawyer, James Leonard called Melissa to tell her that the request was approved and sent Melissa a letter that Teresa had written her from prison that included a longtime joke about “sprinkle cookies.”

The Gorgas also struggled with Melissa’s new project of starting her own business, but also their values of maintaining a traditional Italian family.

One person who wasn’t too thrilled about Teresa’s return and a letter she received from Giudice’s lawyer was Jacqueline Laurita. She even compared the letter and their friendship to throwing burning hot coffee in someone’s face.

Jacqueline introduced the two new Housewives, Siggy Flicker and Dolores Catania, to the group. She explained that Dolores has been a longtime friend to her and Teresa and even her sister-in-law’s Caroline and Dina Manzo.

When Laurita threw a Christmas party at her house for everyone, she privately spoke to Melissa about the letter she received from Teresa. They both said they were nervous about what was to come with Teresa’s return. Melissa said she was hoping for a good relationship with Teresa, while Jaqueline didn’t seem sure of what she wanted.

When Teresa’s finally arrived home from prison in the early hours of December 22nd, 2015, she was greeted with big hugs and kisses from her husband Joe and four daughters.

Her oldest daughter Gia seemed the most emotional, and there’s no doubt it touched viewers. Teresa relished in the ‘Welcome Home,’ signs her girls had handmade for her and embraced her husband, because she couldn’t believe she was finally home.

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting AllThingsRH.com was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.

I can’t believe Joe already started by complaining about Teresa. Teresa cousins and Jacqueline already putting her down. This is old.

Agree re Jac and Kathy and co., somethings never change! I haven’t seen the episode as it will be tomorrow in UK before I can see it but when did Joe have a go at Tre? Xo

      • Suze, seeing Tre again on the show was great. I don’t remember Joe complaining about Tre at all. Maybe I wasn’t watching as closely as others, but he stated how he just couldn’t wait for her to come home and give him some relief with the girls. LOL I hope the drama this season on the show will be different from the past. I think the loyal fans of the show deserve nothing less. 🙂

I have only seen the clips but quite a few of them and didn’t hear him complain about Tre?

Did Chris get a brow lift? He looks constantly surprised in his interviews.

Maybe he is trying to catch up with Jac on the plastic surgery! Maybe take a while! Xoxo

I said the same thing! He has gain weight, you can tell!

I thought Chris looked like he had put on a little bit of weight.

Great show! Glad tre’s back. Very moving for sure

I never heard Joe complain once about Tre, He did voice that the daughters were pains & that I understood as it could not have been easy dealing with 4 girls at different stages in their young lives, adorable as they are. But his wife?! he could not wait to have her home.
I cant lie, tears were streaming down as I watched the family reunite.

Way to much of the Gorgas. Can’t stand either one but Joe and his nudity and constant sexual innuendos make this unwatchable for me.

    • I agree, Gorga is disgusting and ugly. I don’t know why he thinks he is Gods gift to women, yuck! Gorga still thinks he did nothing wrong and everything in the past seasons between the Gorga’s is all Teresa’s doing. I don’t think so, Gorga’s were the ones at fault. I don’t believe a word that comes out of their big fat mouths.

        I think I like you a lot! Xo❤️❤️❤️

I like Teresa and all, I watched the return home video & last night’s premiere and kept thinking how rehearsed Gia & Milania both behaved. Gia is way over the top, although her tears to see her Mom were real, the rest seemed over the top. Her screaming at Milania and about the dogs. Milania too with her lying sideways, clothed in bed “Just give me 10 more minutes please” seemed like someone told her that would be “cute” to say. All the other kids are very natural on the show but those 2 come off like they thing Disney is watching. I like how the family (Gorga/Giudice) is getting along. THAT is worth watching. Like the new ladies a lot. Melissa’ store is awesome. Jacqueline is as usual, tough to figure out. Her Teresa imitation was hilarious!

Oh Nikki what a ridiculous accusation. To think Teresa’s daughters were “acting” at the crack of dawn on the day their mother is being released from prison is paranoid, hysterical, insane etc.
