Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa and Joe Giudice Update: Deportation & Divorce

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice was convicted on tax fraud in 2014 and while it is a very real possibility he will be deported back to his native country of Italy, we have learned that he has a dream to become an MMA fighter.

Joe reportedly spent a lot of time working out while he served time in prison and now plans to become a mixed martial arts fighter if a judge oks his release from ICE custody, where he currently is being held.

“According to him, he’s been doing a lot of the exercises and a lot of the routines that he learned when he got his black belt,” a source told the Post. “He’s been eating right, exercising, staying in shape, getting his body right and he feels like, as far as his condition, he feels stronger than he did when he was in his 20s.”

While Giudice was in prison, a judge ruled that he should be deported to Italy, but Giudice appealed the ruling so he remains in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement until his case is finalized.

On September 13th, Andy Cohen spoke with HollywoodLife and shared, “We texted the other day, but I haven’t spoken to her [Teresa]. I think she’s just waiting for a verdict.”

We are expecting to see the new season of RHONJ this fall, and Andy confirmed we will see what Teresa has been facing on the show.

Meanwhile, Joe made a video appearance before a judge on a September 11th bond hearing, asking that he be released to go home to be with his family until a final ruling comes down after his deportation appeals are exhausted.

Joe has remained in ICE custody since March 14 after serving a 41-month sentence behind bars for bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. He went straight from prison to an immigration hold and it looks like he’s going to be sent back to Italy.

Teresa has admitted that she will divorce Joe if he is deported back to Italy. PEOPLE reported in January that Teresa has admitted to her co-stars that “we’d go our separate ways” if Joe was deported.

At last year’s reunion, Teresa admitted, “I mean, Italy’s a beautiful place to live. I wouldn’t mind, you know, I’m just saying. Listen, whatever God has planned for me, that’s what’s going to happen. I will embrace it the best I can.”

Now, Teresa has told Andy Cohen that she won’t be going anywhere. “Teresa told Andy that if Joe gets deported, she’s not going,” a source told the mag. “She said that she and Joe had talked about it over the phone, and that he understood.”
