Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice’s husband Joe was denied bond by a judge on Friday. He will have to sit in a Pennsylvania jail while he appeals the court’s decision to deport him to his native country of Italy.
According to North Jersey, Giudice’s immigration attorney, Jerard Gonzalez, argued in a Pennsylvania courtroom that his client was entitled to a bond hearing under a 2018 court decision that required such proceedings after six months of immigration detention. Gonzalez also said Giudice, who has been held in immigration custody since March, should be released because he poses no threat.
The decision was “very disappointing,” Gonzalez said Monday. John Martin, a spokesman for the U.S. Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review, said the agency doesn’t comment on such rulings.
Giudice is being held at the ICE Clinton County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania.
This is a subject I’ve been writing about since the beginning. What do you think of the judge’s decision? Should Joe be deported?
