Former RHOA star NeNe Leakes appeared on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix talk show this week and was asked about her time spent with Donald Trump on The Celebrity Apprentice. She even revealed that she was approached to help with Trump’s campaign.
“They did. They reached out to me. They sent me an email and asked me to, I think, speak or something at one of his rallies and I didn’t… No [I don’t want to represent him],” she said, when it was pointed out to her that Omarosa Manigault, who appeared on The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice, was recently appointed as his director of African-American outreach.
But Leakes did have some nice things to say about Trump. “Honeslty when I was on the show I thought he was very nice,” she said. “I thought he was true to who he was. That was what I liked. I thought his kids were so nice and so humble. They were very nice.”
As for her exit from his show, she had this to say, “I quit. Because I felt like it. No, really. I was so over the show. Like, I needed to use my cell phone. I needed to use my computer. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t stand arguing every day on the show. I was about to pull my wig off, so I just quit. I just couldn’t take it anymore. It was just a lot for me, I couldnt do it.”
