EXCLUSIVE Interview With RHOC Vicki Gunvalson

I recently had the chance to interview THE original Housewife, Real Housewives of Orange County’s, Vicki Gunvalson! It was such a pleasure. I have watched her since Season 1, Vicki is great! She talks about how becoming a grandmother has changed her, the new dynamic of Season 8, the latest with Brooks, and much more! Read what Vicki said below!

Hi Vicki, thanks so much for agreeing to do this interview, how have you been doing?
VG:
“I’ve been great. We are only a few weeks away from the holidays which always makes me happy to feel the spirit of Christmas all around. My family and I will be going back “home” to Chicago.”

How did Bravo originally approach you to be on The Real Housewives of Orange County?
VG:
“Actually my son read a little ad in our local community paper looking for college kids that may want to be on a reality show at that time called ‘Behind the Gates’. They came over to my home to talk to us and the rest is history.”

Were you hesitant at all about joining the cast?
VG:
“There was NO cast at the time I agreed to do it. At that time they chose Lauri Waring/Peterson and myself and our kids.”

Congratulations on your beautiful grand baby, Troy. What is it like seeing Briana as a mother?
VG:
“Seeing Briana as a mother is an unbelievable experience. She is definitely comfortable with this new role in her life and is an excellent mom.”

How has being a grandma changed you?
VG:
“It makes me want to sit more, to enjoy just listening to his little heart beat on me makes me realize how fragile life is and to cherish every moment.”

Are you still in a relationship with Brooks?
VG:
“No.”

Are you currently seeing anyone?
VG:
“No.”

Do you think Tamra and Gretchen’s friendship is genuine?
VG:
“Well I hope so, but let’s just see what you think after this season unfolds.”

Do you think you and Tamra will ever be able to be true friends again?
VG:
“This season you will see a lot of changes happen there – can’t spill the beans yet on what happens. That wouldn’t be any fun now would it?”

What was it like in Season 7 watching your friendship basically end?
VG:
“Horrible. I hated it and didn’t know what to do to save it. I was very very hurt.”

I know you can’t elaborate, but, I’m excited you decided to come back for another Season, you are truly the original Housewife. Will Season 8 have a completely different dynamic?
VG:
“I think so…I really do. I know our viewers and fans have been so supportive of our franchise and I really appreciate the loyalty. We have a great new member to our group and I think everyone is going to really love her.”

I’m hoping we will get to see Briana and her new family on Season 8, can you comment?
VG:
“Yes, you will see Briana and Ryan and new baby Troy and how they have handled all of the changes that occurred in their life in the past year.”

How is your son, Mike doing?
VG:
“Mike is really doing great. He will be celebrating his 27th birthday in a month and I couldn’t be prouder of him. He lives in Newport and loving life.”

What would you say is the biggest misconception viewers have about you?
VG:
“Wow, I think there was a lot of them. Most important that they felt I put my daughter’s feeling aside regarding her feelings about Brooks.”

Do you watch any of the other Housewives shows? If so, which is your favorite, and who are some of your favorite Housewives?
VG:
“I try and support all the other franchises, but now that there are so many to watch I simply don’t have the time.”

I truly admire your work ethic. How is business going?
VG:
“Business is going good. Owning Coto Insurance & Financial Services is my rock and my stability.  It’s one thing that I know will never leave me, is solid and I have an amazing staff.  If anyone is looking for a free life insurance quote, 401k rollovers to an insured policy or an IRA rollover, email us at info@cotoinsurance.com or check out my website at www.cotoinsurance.com.”

Do you have any other projects in the works?
VG:
“Actually I do. I am weeks away from my launching my very own Vodka line.  It’s called “Vicki’s Vodka” and I believe is going to become a household name. We’ve abbreviated it to “V.V” and will have orange, original, lemon and our newest flavor BACON!”

Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
VG:
“Thank you for all of your love and support and I’m wishing you a very blessed holiday season. God Bless you.”
