Exclusive Interview With RHOBH Camille Grammer

I had the amazing opportunity to chat with RHOBH Camille Grammer. She is truly SO sweet. I felt like I was chatting on the phone with a dear friend. We talked about so many things; I think you will really enjoy my interview with her! For me, it meant so much more than an interview, it was an awesome experience that I will never forget!

ATRH: Hi Camille! I’m so honored you took the time to do this interview with me, how are you doing?
CG: “I’m doing very well considering the craziness of the Holiday season! [laughs] I’m just getting ready for Christmas and getting ready to go to Hawaii! Every year I fly my family there for the Holidays!”

ATRH: I’m very excited for Season 3 of RHOBH, what made you decide to reduce your role on the show?
CG: “It was basically a decision between the producers and myself. They came to my house [like they do with all the women] and asked what was going on in my life. I didn’t want my children to appear on the show or to air any more of my divorce. I also didn’t want to air my relationship with Dimitri as my storyline, so from there the decision was made to reduce my role.”

ATRH: I’m so happy for you and your boyfriend, Dimitri, will we be seeing him appear with you on Season 3?
CG: “Dimitri does make an appearance on the show. In a couple of weeks you will see me looking for investment properties in downtown Los Angeles, with Mauricio, who is the listing agent. Dimitri comes with us as we look for properties for me to invest in.”

ATRH: I know that Season 1 was rough on you in many ways, how did you handle the negative press?
CG: “It was so difficult. I felt like I was being kicked from all sides. My husband had abandoned me, the feedback I was getting from the show was brutal, and I felt like nobody was giving me a break. I even had to get off Twitter for a while, because of some of the comments I was receiving.”

ATRH: I can’t imagine how you ladies deal with the backlash from viewers. I feel like I am way too sensitive of a person, and could never be in your position.
CG: “I feel like I am too sensitive for the show. In Season 1 I made a lot of rookie mistakes. Kelsey was pushing me very hard to do the show, and at the time I didn’t know why. I felt like I had to pretend to be what I thought a Beverly Hills Housewife would say or do.”

ATRH: Do you feel like getting through Season 1 made you a stronger person?
CG: “Absolutely!! It made me really look at myself and see that there were things I needed to change. I have had a lot of personal growth from this experience. No one is perfect!”

ATRH: One of my favorite opening lines in ALL of The Housewives Franchise is, “Diamonds aren’t a girls best friend… Freedom is!” I believe we saw the REAL Camille in Season 2, would you agree?
CG: “Thank you for saying that. Yes, that is the real me. I do not like confrontation. The producers would laugh at me when I would suddenly run to the bathroom to try and avoid it, but sometimes you get sucked into the drama!”

ATRH: Has being a part of the show changed your life?
CG: “Absolutely! It gave me a voice, and that is so important. Plus, I think people finally got to see the real me!”

ATRH: Which ladies on the show would you say you are the closest with, or can relate to the most?
CG: “Brandi and I have had very similar experiences with our husband’s cheating, so I relate to her. Kyle is one of the funniest people I know, she cracks me up! I really empathize with what Adrienne is going through, I feel so bad for her.”

ATRH: Bravo added some new Housewives, Brandi, Yolanda and Marisa, would you say this changed the dynamic in the group?
CG: “Yes, the dynamic has definitely changed. There is more cursing [laughs]! Yolanda and Brandi’s personalities are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I didn’t get a chance to know Yolanda that well, or Marisa, but the times I have been around Marisa I enjoyed her, she doesn’t hold back!”

ATRH: Would you ever considering coming back to the show as an “Official Housewife?”
CG: “It depends if they would want me back! And also, what’s going on in my personal life. There’s still a lot of loose ends to tie up with the divorce, and I don’t want to show that on camera.”

ATRH: Were you a fan of The Real Housewives prior to joining the show?
CG: “To be honest I didn’t watch any of the shows, but once I met with the producers I went on YouTube and got caught up in some of RHOC. I kept thinking, I can’t do this [laughs]! Kelsey kept pushing me to do the show, and I couldn’t believe he wanted me to expose our personal life like that. I usually watch the Disney Channel with my kids, or my daughter and I love HGTV. I also tune in to Bravo for the interior design shows like, Flipping Out.”

ATRH: Who is your favorite Housewife from another city?
CG: “I have met NeNe, Heather [Dubrow], Tamra, Gretchen, and Kathy, and they are all very nice.”

ATRH: If I may ask, I know we saw your mom battling breast cancer in Season 2. I am a cancer survivor, and my mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor, how is your mother’s health now?
CG: “My mom is a very strong person. With prayer, family, and strength she continues to fight her battle. Every four months she has surgery, and they give her chemotherapy through a catheter. She is so strong, and I truly believe in mind over matter. She is such an inspiration.”
Camille and I continued to talk on a personal level about the tragedy cancer can bring. She is so gracious, really took interest and listened to my story, and congratulated me on my health! XOXO to her! And her mother, Maureen Donatacci, will continue to be in my prayers.

ATRH: What’s next for you? Are you working on any new projects?
CG: “I’m going to be making a couple of guest appearances on TV shows! I’m also helping promote my boyfriend, Dimitri’s, company. They have an amazing supplement line that I really believe in. People can visit their website at wellnetix.com or follow them on Twitter, @wellnetix. While I’m not endorsing it, I really want to help his business!”

ATRH: Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
CG: “YES! Thank you for being so supportive over the past two years. I’ve been through so much, and it truly means so much to me! It’s so nice when you get a positive Tweet from a Twitter friend. I try to reply to all of my friend’s on Twitter. I just want to thank everyone for all their kind words for my family and I!”
