This week’s episode of the Real Housewives of Potomac raised some eyebrows when the ladies started talking about Karen Huger’s upcoming O Gala in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. Monique Samuels and some of her friends wondered why they were making checks out to Karen’s Icon Hair Collection company and not the nonprofit itself.
“I am hosting this, so it’s going through my business so my accountants can track all funds that will be donated to Alzheimer’s Association directly,” Karen explained during the episode. “So these batches can shut up and write a check.”
Monique was sketchy about the event and when she confronted Karen she didn’t get the answers she wanted.
“I’m doing it the way I’m going to do it, and enough said. We’re done,” Karen told Monique. “That’s none of your business, to be honest.”
Luckily, Samuels took to Twitter to fill fans in on what really happened. “What I learned from @KARENHUGER was that her company paid for the event (room rental, food, etc),” Monique tweeted Sunday. “The Alzheimer’s Association was there and present. They received all of the donations that night directly.”
