Melissa and Joe Gorga Selling Their Montville Mansion Again

RHONJ stars Joe and Melissa Gorga are attempting to sell their Montville mansion again. The 9,000 square-foot home has an asking price of $3.5 million this time around.

The couple originally purchased the home in 2007 for $950,000, even though Joe built the house. There have been many rumors that Joe, who is a luxury home developer, initially built the house with a construction loan only, and when Melissa joined the show they moved into the home hoping to portray a more lavish lifestyle for the cameras.

At one point the Gorgas had a potential buyer at the original $3.8 million asking price, but that deal ended in lawsuits. You can read more about that here.

The home now has even more add-ons than it did originally; including a spa-like pool and hair salon. The couple’s real estate agent describes the property as a “celebrity estate” and boasts of prospective buyers being able to touch a bit of “Hollywood Hills glam meets East Coast style.” This includes the recording studio in the unfinished basement, but the property also features 2 acres of land, six bedrooms, and 7.5 bathrooms.

So where will Melissa and Joe live? You may remember that they built a home in Franklin Lakes, which they never took occupancy of and then reportedly sold for $2.65 million back in July 2016. However, learned that property records show the home in Franklin Lakes has never been sold and is not currently on the market.

I have to say I’m quite surprised they are trying to sell the home again, but something seems off. Let’s chat! Why do you think the Gorgas are wanting to move?

  1. I think it is because everyone who can afford it wants to live in Franklin Lakes.
I mean that. Bergen County in NJ is where most of the uber wealthy want to live. Alpine is the most expensive place to live, then there is Saddle River and Franklin Lakes among others. Some may opt for a horse farm (for one of their many homes) in Colts Neck, Monmouth County like Springsteen, who is from Monmouth County, as well as John Bon Giovi (Bon Jovi) who has a home on the river in Middletown, but living near (within 30 min or less) NYC in Bergen County in a huge home on parklike grounds, etc. is where many want to live as their main at the Jersey shore are common second homes, too for the wealthy.
Montville is nice, but it is not Bergen County or it would have sold by now.
Just my own opinion. I live in NJ.

      1. I don’t watch it either. Yes, the house was very bizarre. It had a sink in the master, I believe, that was a faux sink of sorts, since it looked like a sink but lacked the plumbing, etc. Other areas also had very shoddy workmanship. It was like a rotten Easter egg…pretty in the outside (if you like gaudy) and rotten on the inside, as of they ran out of money while building it. Maybe now they actually fixed what was really wrong before putting it on the market?

  2. Again? With the faux Marble sinks and the place falling apart?
Good luck, unloading this tacky lemon of a Monster House..
    It is a buyers market..
I can’t even imagine.. It must look like a bordello..
