Melissa Gorga’s oldest sister Kim Pirrella (left) will be returning to St. Luke’s Theatre for a double encore of the off-Broadway hits My Big Gay Italian Wedding and My Big Gay Italian Funeral. Kim will reprise her role in both productions as Lucia Fuccio, who is described as a “lipstick lesbian diva.” In an interview with The Examiner, Kim is speaking out about her experience acting and also shares her opinions about The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
“First and foremost they’re laugh out loud funny,” Kim says of the plays. “They show off real life and heartfelt family issues, and the third [they] highlight a typical Italian family.”
When asked if she would ever like to be part of the RHONJ cast, Kim explains, “If you would have asked me this question two years ago I probably would have said yes, but that would be because I didn’t know any better. Now that I’ve seen the lengths at which people will go to or should I say have to go to just to be relevant on those shows, I say not a chance in hell would I subject myself, my children or my marriage to being a cast member on that show. I believe in supporting, encouraging and pushing up other women, not competing with and tearing them down.”
