Melissa Gorga Thought Husband Joe Was “Out Of His Mind” to Open Family Restaurant

On this week’s episode of RHONJ, we learned that Joe Gorga was going to open a family restaurant in honor of his late mother, Antonia. Although he blindsided Melissa with the plan, she is now opening up about how she really feels about the restaurant.

“I just thought Joe was out of his mind to open a restaurant,” Melissa confessed. “Everyone knows that it’s a ton of work. It takes a ton of your time. He’s a real estate developer, he has buildings all over New Jersey.”

“But at the end of the day it all comes full circle,” Melissa admits. “It’s all my mother-in-law’s recipes. It’s really such a beautiful tribute to her. You walk into this restaurant and there are pictures of my mother-in-law everywhere, there are pictures of our family everywhere. The food is phenomenal.”

“I gave him a hard time, but at the end of the day I’m happy he chose to do it,” she adds. “It’s so sweet being in there.”

Check out these photos of the restaurant:

What are your thoughts about Joe’s latest business venture?

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting AllThingsRH.com was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.

If my hubby walked me into some new dive (under the presumption that we were having lunch) and then dropped a bomb by telling me he already bought it … I’d kill him. That is not the way a good partnership/marriage is supposed to work. Joe can be a neanderthal sometimes.

      Can you imagine?
Not many Women would put up, with his antiquated sexist male BS.
It must be the way that T& J were raised?
Misogyny is alive and sicker than ever in Franklin Lakes, NJ.

I’m (1/2) Italian, a little older than Joe, and have been known as a male chauvinist pig um, as being “traditional” a few times myself, but Joe’s got me beat.

Joe Gorga provides a great life for his family. He’s a nice guy who adores and respects his wife & family. Personally, I think his sexist stuff is solely for ratings & attention.

  • EnigmaWrappedInSnark

It’s pretty absurd … I have to believe this was a (poorly acted) manufactured story line. But then again, who knows; they are pretty old school.

Instead of complaining, Melissa should be thrilled. Everything Joe Gorga does turns to gold. I doubt she’d have anything near the lifestyle she has now without Joe.

It’s worth a try. Why not. I am sure Joe conducts many business ventures without asking for his wife’s approval first.
