Wetpaint Entertainment: What was it like watching yourself on the show?
Lisa Hochstein: You get to learn a lot about yourself and it definitely makes you a stronger person as a result of the show. It really gave me a lot of faith in people, because going into the show speaking about my fertility issues I was really uneasy speaking about these personal issues. But after it aired, the support from all of the fans was overwhelming and amazing. It’s incredible that people are so invested in the show and invested in each one of us, in me especially. And to know that there’s a lot of people going through fertility problems also made me feel not so alone. I think it made a lot of women with similar issues feel not so alone too.
Can you tell me more about how the fertility treatments are going for you?
It’s a very sad and frustrating issue in my life. I want more than anything to start a family, but as the days go by, and the years go by, it just gets more frustrating. But, with support and realizing that this happens, I’ve found some very interesting facts that some people I know have opened up to me and said, “Lisa, keep on trying, I have actually tried 11 IVF treatments and I finally got my baby.†I’ve tried three failed IVF treatments and am now embarking on a fourth. Knowing that we’re going on to another one, I don’t feel as defeated. It’s just a matter of time, and sometimes its God’s timing as well.  I definitely feel better about going into this next cycle, because I feel like I have a more confident, clear mind, and I’m not getting so down on myself. I’m also doing everything I can to be healthier, like drinking cold press green drinks. Maybe somebody may think that’s silly, but to me, I’m sure that all these little things I’m doing will help.
Would you and your husband consider adoption?
I think adoption is such a wonderful thing and can be a possibility later down the line. But, I would definitely like to have to have our own biological children first, and the thought would be something we would maybe want to do in expanding our family later on. I’m healthy, he’s healthy, and there should be no reason why we shouldn’t be able to have our own biological children. I admire and think that people that adopt are amazing, and you know, we haven’t weeded that out as an option.
