Real Housewives of Miami Star Lisa Hochstein is taking to her Bravo Blog to let viewers know how unhappy she was with the behavior that occurred at her party. She threw the party to raise money for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness, but the focus turned to people being thrown in her pool, and the infamous slap. Read what Lisa had to say below!
Lisa writes, “My lingerie party to benefit Susan G. Komen was a fun, creative way to help create awareness and funds for a wonderful foundation. Two of my aunts and my motherin-law have suffered as a result of breast cancer, which is why this event was very special to me.
We discover early on that Marta did indeed sleep with Joe, which adds fuel to Joanna’s fire. The whole situation put her in a defensive, confrontational mood. I am relieved Marta helped stop her from confronting Marysol to avoid another unnecessary fight in my home.
The drama with Beau feeling Lea was disrespectful to him was nonsense. James felt the need to come to Lea’s rescue once again. Lea is a grown woman who is capable of fighting her own battles and I thought she did a wonderful job of explaining herself. He then proves his lack of proper guest etiquette by throwing a drink and pushing Beau into my pool. Not only could Beau have become seriously injured, but the water splash caused a short, which stopped the music. Two ways to ruin a party is to run out of alcohol or turn off the music. To make matters worse, my phone got wet when Beau made me drop it, which led me to a quick search for rice (a great trick I learned from experience). This was an incredible act of selfishness and disregard for me and my event for such a worthy cause.
Justifiably I became very frustrated and exploded at my guests for their behavior and lack of restraint. This side rarely surfaces unless something really matters to me. Disappointment is an understatement of how I felt. In all the years of having parties at my home, there has never been such chaos. Most people who are invited guests at my home understand the correct way to conduct themselves and are simply there to have a good time, not to stir the pot or make it about them.
So many failed to exercise restraint at my party in one way or another. Shame on all involved! Looking back I should have tossed them all out! They made it about them and not my event.
I thought the best way to get past this was to invite the girls into the kitchen away from the madness to have a drink together. Apparently this was not a wise decision. Adriana and Joanna seemed to have disregarded my wishes completely. Adriana decided that she would confront Karent about the Botox for brains news article and Joanna decided to come to Karent’s rescue. Although this conversation should have been had at another time, it should have been between Karent and Adriana. Things were said that clearly touched nerves and escalated this argument quickly. Joanna should not have chased Adriana as she tried to walk away. And Adriana should have used more self-control and not smacked her. There is never an excuse for physical violence. I really did not see who assaulted whom first. It is possible that Joanna grabbed Adriana from behind. Either way, it was wrong and I was unhappy with both of them. Confrontations mixed with alcohol make for very bad hangover.
I appreciate both Romain and Marta for trying to calm the situation down, and especially Marta for being the voice of reason. Although Lea brought two of the troublemakers, she did try to help calm everyone down also.
After voicing my issues with Lea and my feelings towards her, I felt we began to understand and have a newfound respect for one another.
Thankfully my event still managed to raise funds for Susan G. Komen, and I did end up having a great time despite all of this. Hoped everyone enjoyed reading my blog. I read and appreciate each and everyone one of your comments.”
