Why Does Lexi Use The Last Name Manzo?

Now that Dina Manzo and her daughter Lexi have signed on for season 6 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, a lot of people have been asking why Lexi, who is 17 years-old, goes by the last name Manzo when Tommy isn’t her biological father. Lexi’s biological father’s name is George Hadjiapostoli and if you recall in season 1, she went to visit him for two weeks in Greece.

Lexi’s legal name is her biological father’s name, but she uses Manzo as sort of a stage name since appearing on RHONJ. She is cited in many articles/interviews/photos with her legal name. Lexi also prefers to use the last name Manzo is because she likes having the same last name as her mother. Tommy and Dina both have a great relationship with Lexi’s father, George.

Dina married Tommy Manzo, who is Albert Manzo’s brother, in 2005, and over the years he has had a great relationship with Lexi. When Dina announced her split from Tommy, she said, “My secret…I have been separated since October, my heart hurts but Tommy & I will always share a very special love.” She added, “So grateful for the support of my loved ones during this time, especially my spiritual friends. You know who u are xoxo.” And lastly, “And of course my biggest supporter Lexi, Tommy adores her & they will remain close.”

Although Dina and Tommy are separated she revealed in her interview with Oprah they are still living in the same house and she admitted a reconciliation wasn’t out of the question. “I announced my separation back in February,” Dina said. “The sticky thing is that there is no legal separation in the state of New Jersey and we still live together. We’ve come to a point in our relationship where we’re extremely loving towards one another. And no matter what happens, whether we follow through with the divorce, or something happens and we wind up back together we’re at a really good place right now.”
