Kyle Richards Talks Casting Her TV Land Series

As we previously reported, Kyle Richards is producing a single-camera comedy based on her childhood, and earlier this month TV Land confirmed that a pilot will be filmed for the series. The show has been described as a “dark comedy” and was inspired by Kyle’s own mom and family, including her two older sisters Kim Richards and Kathy Hilton.

This has added pressure on Kyle to cast actors for the series. “You know what, that’s really hard [to find who will be playing me]. That’s not as hard as picking my mom,” Kyle told The Daily Dish. “It’s going to have to be a child that’s mature for their age and can handle the role. It’s a lot harder than casting a regular script.”

“I’m really excited. It feels surreal because right now we’re starting the casting process. I’ve only ever been the one walking in to the casting office being auditioned, so now the fact that I am going to be on the other end of it is crazy. I actually feel so bad for the actors because I know what a painful process that can be. So I think ‘Oh my god, it’s going to be so hard for me to watch’ because I know how they’re feeling.”

“I mean it’s just starting now, but even the whole process of getting the project made and getting it this far has been a learning process for me, so it’s really exciting. I mean I’ve been in television the majority of my life starting at 3, 4 years old, so I’ve always been in front of the camera. But it’s amazing to know how little I knew about behind the camera, so it’s been a great education for me and very fun.”

So will Kyle appear in the show? “I don’t know. I’ve thought about that, but the truth is right now I’m just going to be behind the camera but you never know.”

        1. Well, being that Brandy still has to force landlords to rent to her, and can’t speak an entire sentence without using the word “fuck” maybe she should spend some time reading her son’s schoolbooks. Because my vocabulary was better than hers when I was 11. If she could simply embrace everything she has at her fingertips rather than being so hateful and vulgar, she could be happy.

    1. Give it up Brandi… Move on. Be at peace with yourself. No need to keep harping on your embarrassing past to attempt to justify your ignorant behavior in the past. Just let it go and stop the negativity in your life. I guarantee you your life will change if you let it all go

  1. I am happy for her whether the pilot makes air or not. The education will prove to be invaluable since she wants to go into producing and maybe she will get into directing. That would be great for her.
Mainly, I want to see her new closet!

    1. Morning 3D, good luck to her, I am really pleased she has done this and I will watch, if possible from where I am! I hope it does well! Xoxo

  2. I do get tv land on my dish, so I will definitely watch, but she isn’t in it. I have not even finished the book “House of Hilton” but the little I have read doesn’t jive with the way Kyle speaks of her Mom. So it will be interesting to see how she saw it. Our perspective is our reality. I have spoken to my sisters about that. There recollection is often totally different than mine.
