Kyle Richards Says Brandi Glanville Is Not Racist

Brandi Glanville ignited a huge controversy during Monday night’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she told Joyce Giraud she couldn’t swim because, “you’re a black person”. Brandi explained that her black friends would have laughed at her joke because they wouldn’t of gotten in the pool because they didn’t want to give their weaves wet. After the episode aired, Kyle Richards appeared on Watch What Happens Live and defended Brandi, saying she is not racist. Brandi also called into the show and apologized for her comments.

Andy told Brandi, “As you can imagine I got a buttload of Tweets for you, wanting to know what you were thinking.  Kenya Moore, Atlanta Housewife Tweeted ‘not all black women wear hair weaves, half the women on Beverly Hills Housewives are wearing some fake hair. Brandi could not be more ignorant.'” Brandi responded, “I know what I said was definitely inappropriate but I say a lot of inappropriate things. It was definitely not sensitive and I apologize to anyone I offended. But to be honest with you Andy, my friends joke with each other this way and they’re all different backgrounds. So, I’m sorry and I guess you’re not ready for the real Brandi? Should I censor myself?”

Next, Andy asked, “Do you think what you said was racist?” Brandi says she’s not racist at all. “I think it was definitely inappropriate. I’m the least racist person of all time. I think the more you defend it, the more you look guilty, so I don’t have to say that much more.  I’m very sorry with whomever I offended.”

Kyle also jumped in to defend Brandi, saying, “I think Brandi was just trying to get a rise out of Joyce and I do not think that Brandi is a racist. I really don’t. I think it was not the greatest thing to say, not a smart comment. She sometimes says things that she shouldn’t say.”

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting AllThingsRH.com was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.

I just think Brandi needs to learn a little decorum. She, Lisa and Yolanda think it so cute when she opens her mouth and says stupid stuff. I think it’s sad that she has no moral compass. Without one, you tend to have a double standard. It’s alright for her to talk about Kyle behind her back before she even confirmed that what she supposedly said was true and then has the nerve to tell the group not to talk about Yolanda when she wasn’t there. Can you say two-faced? I think Kyle is a class act with the way she handles that trio. You rock Kyle! And by the way, I do think they bully Kyle because they all jump on on each other’s bandwagon when one goes against Kyle. I wouldn’t have the patience to sit there and take it, I’d jump up and slap one of them! And then have the gall to tell Joyce to stay out of it when she tried to help Kyle. Brandi, you’re not cute–just tasteless.

    • Wow! What a difference 18 months makes. That was insightful and I wonder if you are still a fan? I was just channel surfing this blog and found this. I wasn’t aware how far back it goes. Maybe if I was more computer savvy I would know how to just see the whole thing on one page? Oh, well.
