Kyle Richards: Brandi Had No Reason To Feel Unwelcome At The White Party

Kyle

Kyle Richards is taking to her first Bravo Blog of the year to welcome her new cast mates to RHOBH and dish on her famous White Party. Kyle is thrilled to welcome Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson to the group, talks about mending her friendship with Lisa Vanderpump and says there is no reason Brandi should have felt uncomfortable at the party.

Kyle writes, “We are back! I can’t believe this is the fifth season. This is going to be an exciting , fun-filled season with all the craziness that comes with life’s ups and downs.

Writing these blogs can be challenging, because so much has happened since this was filmed, and relationships have changed. We are supposed to write about how we were feeling at that time. However, sometimes that can be difficult when certain relationships have taken a turn for the worse or since been repaired. I will do my best to be objective.

We start out this first episode with the planning of the White Party. This has become a tradition for our family. We didn’t do the White Party last year, because we had Sophia’s bat mitzvah around the same time we usually do the White Party.

For the first White Party we ever had, my close girlfriends helped me out, and it was a “do it yourself ” event. From going down to the flower mart and making the flower arrangements ourselves to making our own backdrop for our wannabe photo booth. These days I get help from my party planner, Glenn Schneider of West Coast Events. Each year the party has grown. We used to have around 100 people, and now it’s about 300.

In the episode I said it was the party of the year that everyone wants to come to. Certainly there are bigger, more glamorous parties than my White Party. I meant compared to what the party used to be and that people in town know it’s in June and will start asking about it, as well as asking to bring friends. I think people look forward to it, because it feels like summer is finally here.

It was funny to see Yolanda discovering the guy who had set up shop on her property. Too funny. It was sweet that she let him stay and wished him success. Yolanda and I are both preparing for our girls to leave for college soon, and I am terrified.

Lisa and I picked up where we left off last year. I reached out to Lisa and asked her to meet with me. Lisa and I had always been close. In the past couple of years, we have had our moments and a lot of obstacles to work through. However, life is too short, and I wanted to talk it out and be able to start from scratch. I missed the days of us just laughing and having fun. I wanted to get to a strong enough place where we wouldn’t go backwards again or let outside negativity influence our friendship. I think that in order to do that you have to have these conversations. Brushing it under the carpet and just “moving on” is always a temporary solution.

I am so happy to have Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson join us this season. I’ve known Lisa Rinna for years, and it’s fun to have her be a part of this. Eileen and I met during a guest spot I did on Days Of Our Lives. I think you will enjoy getting to know both of these great women.

It was great seeing Lisa R. with her kids and Harry. There’s nothing I love more than seeing a home filled with love and happy chaos. Lisa was a lot more calm than I would have been if Mauricio brought in a baby rattlesnake. I found myself wanting to yell. “The babies are the most poisonous, Harry!” Lisa and I only live a few minutes apart, and we also find scary little visitors in our yard!

It’s finally time for the White Party. I was excited to have everyone in our home and kick off summer. It was so nice to have Adrienne, Camille, and Taylor there. Everyone was in a great mood and ready to have fun. Although some of the women weren’t on the best of terms, it seemed everyone was willing to put it aside for the night.

Brandi came in and seemed to be uncomfortable and looking for trouble from the get go. She was invited like everyone else and had no reason to feel unwelcome or that the women were “mean girls.” I think considering everything that has happened, everyone was being nice and just trying to enjoy their night.

I am glad that Brandi and Adrienne are planning to meet up and talk. This is something that should have happened a long time ago.”

  1. I like Kyle, but I don’t agree with her on Brandi. I think Brandi was very nervous and worried about how she would be received. It was pretty obvious how anxious she was — and she really wasn’t welcomed by the group.

    1. Sorry but considering Brandi’s past, I would put as much space as I could between her and myself. Remember Brandi has always picked such events to bring the spotlight on herself.
I would have been very wary of her too. In fact, if she was THAT nervous she should have stayed home.

    2. I agree and she was late due to anxiety. Brandi has been outspoken about her depression and anxiety disorder and I know how anxiety and panic attacks feel and she was very uncomfortable. Anxiety disorder will cause aggressive behavior and will cause someone to drink too much. I wish the housewives and Bravo would recognize this and use this as a learning moment as we lose too many people to depression and anxiety.

  2. Brandi should have stayed home…. Karma Brandi…. these ladies don’t trust you for good reason… you are nasty… and a trouble maker… Wonder why Brandi has to be nasty and in your face all the time… was she born a witch?

  3. Maybe if Brandi spent more time socializing she would have felt more welcome. But, as always, it’s just easier to hide on the outskirts, in a bathroom or stand around looking awkward then play the victim. It’s only been one episode and she is already grinding my gears. From the looks of the preview for the rest of the season it seems she will be spending most of her time apologizing to people. I don’t even understand why she is on the show. Does she even know anyone in town besides the other housewives? It certainly doesn’t look like she does.

    1. I agree with you Angel! Just because Lisa didn’t gush all over her- she was cordial and polite however- Brandi spent the whole party slamming Lisa, insulting her and she self-imposed herself to the edges of the party to glare and snipe at the other ladies with her little posse of gay boys who followed her like a pack of hyenas. She looked ridiculous! While the other ladies were actually catching up and having fun, Brandi spent the entire evening focused on being petty and negative about them. SHE rained on her own parade.

  4. I like Kyle. I think she is misunderstood a lot. I think she was duped by Brandi and fell into her lies. But so did Lisa the previous season. Bravo needs to but Brandi loose. I never cared for her from the beginning. She just seems like a lost spoiled little child. Needs major therapy to get over her issues with her ex and all the other women who have more than her. Yolanda better watch her back, she could be next on Brandi’s hit list.

  5. Brandi is a very insecure, jealous person and she is just miserable and wants to spread it around. Should have let Brandi go last season. She is irrelevant!
