Kristen Taekman: RHONY Was Therapy For My Marriage

Kristen

Kristen Taekman is opening up about how being on the Real Housewives of New York City helped her marriage to her husband Josh. Viewers watched as Kristen and Josh juggle being parents, their careers and keeping things intimate.

“The show was wonderful therapy,” she tells OK! magazine. “Remember the fight at the Spartan race? I watched it three times. The first time, I was like, ‘My husband is such an a–hole! He left me! He’s a jerk.’ The second time I watched it, I was like, ‘I’m such a p—y. What is my problem?’ The third time, it was 50-50. I ruined my husband’s day! So I have been using that. I’ll pause and think, Okay, Kristen, you had a really s—y day. Don’t take it out on Josh. I’m a complainer, so I know that now and I’m working on it.”

“Viewers would go on Twitter and tell me to divorce my husband!” Kristen reveals, adding that the couple is committed to making their marriage work. “Our marriage is more balanced than viewers might thing. Josh gets up early with the kids every morning, and we switch off when we have work obligations…It’s teamwork.”

In conclusion, Kristen says that “marriage is really hard,” but she knows that it’s worth it. “We are a lot stronger than a reality show,” she says. “Team Taekman all the way! With twelve years, two kids, and one season of reality TV under our belts, we are in it for the long haul.”

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting AllThingsRH.com was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.
