Kenya Moore Responds To Saving Our Daughters Charity Scandal, Text Messages Released

As we previously reported, Saving Our Daughters, the charity Kenya Moore said she was raising money for on this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, released a statement that they never received any of the proceeds earned during Kenya’s event. Now, Kenya is responding to the organization, insisting their statement is false.

LoveBScott has exclusive screenshots of text messages from the CEO of Saving Our Daughters, thanking Kenya for her donation.

“Hi Kenya – Thank you for your personal donation as well. Here is the address so we can make it on time. Saving Our Daughters 311 Ryan Trail Dallas, GA 30157 :) ,” Curtis allegedly writes. “We will email over your thank you receipt letter this week from our trustee board for your total donation. Again thank you. :) .”

According to the text messages the two allegedly discussed the event over the next few days and Curtis added, “Thought the event went well that night.”

The site also reports that the mansion that was rented for the event was $5,000. “There was also Valet parking, decor, PR costs, etc. In total, the ball cost well over $10K,” the site states.

Kenya Moore released an official statement to the site, saying, “It’s unfortunate Mr. Curtis Benjamin was not aware of the effort I put into trying to make the event a success for Saving Our Daughters or overlooked the texts regarding the intended honoree. I spent over $10,000 dollars to make the charity event successful, in addition to making a personal donation from the event as well as forwarding any and all donations collected. I hope the focus can shift to the young girls and I wish the organization nothing but the best in the future.”

“I have video proof more check copies and a contract too so pls do not come for me unless I send for you. #dropsmicrophone #grabsbible2pray4u,” the Bravo star later tweeted.

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting AllThingsRH.com was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.

B__ S___. I thought when a supposedly wealthy person puts on a charity event, they pick up the tab for the cost of the event and do NOT take the cost out of the proceeds. Kenya is the Queen of BS.

  • DebBrenn

It sounds like the charity was saying that they were paying for the expenses out of their profits, and Kenya is saying she paid $10K for it. We all know how BELIEVABLE she is! Maybe it’s the “I’m the center of attention” headdress that was $10K.

Take that NeNe! Kenya is cra-cra but she keeps her texts and always has proof to back up what she says…..NeNe is SOOOO jelly

  • Toywa

I don’t know ANY celebrity that picks up a tab ay a charity event. All of the costs are paid from the proceeds. Its obvious nene is behind that statement the charity made. They are messy and so is nene

Too bad the charity appears to be bogus. Didn’t they lose their 501c? Kenya you and Brandon are truly a class act.
