Kelly Dodd’s Daughter Jolie is Happy About Divorce

Kelly Dodd is revealing that her daughter Jolie, 10, is happy about the fact that her parents are getting divorce.

“She’s totally happy,” Kelly told PEOPLE NOW. “All her friends are like, ‘Sorry to hear,’ and she’s like, ‘I’m happy.’”

Kelly announced her divorce from Michael in September.

“Our marriage is over, I’m out of there!” she previously told the Daily Mail. “We’ve [had] problems for years and I’ve had enough, I’m done with our marriage.”

Kelly originally filed for divorce five years ago, but the couple tried to make their marriage work for their daughter.

“I just realized, my parents’ relationship wasn’t healthy and mine isn’t either,” Dodd explained. “My daughter isn’t happy with us, she’s happy we’re divorcing so it’s better for her.”

But Kelly says she is still mourning the loss of her marriage.

“Michael is one of my really good friends and we have a family together, and he’s my family,” she said. “I’m sad I can’t call him all the time and be excited about something, I don’t have that, the friendship element of it, or somebody that has my back. He’s upset with me right now, of course, but he’ll get over it.”

    1. hey hey hey Rain! Hope you’re well. I agree. I LOVE this kid. A bad marriage will bring out the absolute worst in people. I hope we see a calmer side of Kelly and that their little girl gets the nurturing and guidance that she needs. She’s at such a hard age!

  1. Glad your daughter is happy. Better to have good times separate with each parent than crap with both together. And hello Kelly – you cant have it both ways…you left your “best friend” in the dust. Now you cannot call him with your “excitement” whenever you want. Thats divorce…except in rare cases.

  2. Hmm. I wonder if this is just Kelly saying she is happy. I don’t know that she would be happy about a divorce, but maybe happy that the fighting would cease. Every kid would love to have happy parents and two of them, preferably. It does not mean it won’t be happy when they divorce, but it does take a toll on everyone, I am sure.
I hope, for Jolie’s sake, that they don’t use her as a pawn in a game of possession and control. She deserves happiness.

  3. I know plenty of people who’ve been divorced who said their lives took off as soon as the ink was dry. I’m sure Kelly’s quite happy. She’s been mourning this mess for years. It’s dead and buried. Time to move on. When mom and dad are at each other’s throats, it’s a living hell. Her kid will be happier and healthier because of this.
