Kandi Burruss Reacts To Mama Joyce’s Surprise

Kandi Burruss is opening up about her romantic night with Todd, that was set up by Mama Joyce, in her blog this week. While Kandi said she was shocked at first by Joyce’s surprise, she says the couple took full advantage of having a babysitter.

Bravotv.com: Were you surprised your mom set up that intimate date for you and Todd?
Kandi Burruss:
Of course! I was shocked. It was really nice though. When you have a new baby, all attention goes to the baby and you don’t think to make time for the intimate nights. So I was happy.

Bravotv.com: Did you guys get your groove back that night?
Of course! You have to take advantage of your time when you have a babysitter.

Bravotv.com: What went through your mind when you heard about the bomb threat?
At first I thought it was some fake B.S., but when Carmon told me that they evacuated Lenox Mall, which is near Phaedra’s office, I knew it was serious. Overall I was glad that Phaedra was out of town and far away from any danger.

  1. I was surprised that Joyce planned such an intimate evening for Todd and Kandi. That was sweet of her. I honestly thought she did not like babysitting much…but then again maybe she had her granddaughter to help her….
I had to laugh at that contraption she put little Ace into on her kitchen counter in the last episode. Joyce could not put Ace in it fast enough. He looked okay in it, but I never saw anything like it. I was hoping it would stay on the counter and not fall over, though. Joyce wants to be paid to babysit too.
Well, Joyce seemed like a lot of fun, even putting out the handcuffs and all the sex toys. Maybe, like Todd said, they were making baby number 2…a little sibling for Ace. I am happy for them and glad Joyce is okay with all of it, but then again she said Ace looked like her. She is right about her granddaughter looking like her. I cannot tell yet if that baby does look like her, myself. He is just adorable to me.

    1. I like the Burrus-Tuckers a lot…but knowing Kandi (by her own admission), and her Mom (who loves to count the $$$ in her darling daughter’s pockets), I literally burst out laughing when the scene came on because I thought, “INFORMERCIAL!”, LOL!!!

      1. You are so right! Joyce does love the money and all that it can buy, and all of those toys were from Kandi’s collection. Infomercial it was, yes.
It seems it is a good time to plug those products. It happens on all of the shows now. Joyce was still funny, and they did not turn the cameras off too early either. 😉

  2. I did not like what she said about how hard they work then added “well Kandi does anyway” always shading Todd in some way.

      1. Yes, Joyce does do that. She did say that too about at least Kandi does anyway when she was talking. Joyce will be Joyce, but she was still nicer than I have ever seen her.

  3. By the way, a few days ago Kandi did a great interview on Heather McDonald’s podcast this week. They laughed and cackled the entire time.

The one thing I’ve noticed in Kandi’s interviews is that she’s always ready for a hearty laugh and tries to be a good sport no matter what she’s asked. She’s not like a lot of other Housewives who become defensive, or spends all her time talking down the others just to toot her own horn. If she’s asked about a conflict she answers in a straight manner without going overboard on things like sly digs. I like that kind of security in a woman. Wait, now that I said that, I am now wondering “How the heck did Joyce manage to end up with THIS kid, lol???” Could you imagine how Kandi COULD be if she chose to behave just like her mom? Oy. This is definitely a scenario where the old parental saying “Do as I say and not as I DO” has worked well for a mom, lol.

  4. I think it skips a generation or something. 😉 I mean that. Wild and or crazy moms may have more regular kids and vice versa. Kids were embarrassed by mom maybe and tried to be better. Maybe it just is that we are born with our personalities. I don’t know really. 😉
Kandi is not like the others. Thankfully, she is not like her mother for the most part, either. Are we all like our mothers? Thank goodness, Kandi is not. 😮
Yes, I have heard that expression too. Do as I say, not as I do.
Sometimes, I see her daughter looking more like Joyce and the same expressions, and I hope she is not like her in the wrong ways.
