Joyce Giraud Discusses Her Home Invasion And Her Stance On Having A Gun In The House

Joyce Giraud is taking to her Bravo Blog to talk about her home invasion and her stance on having a gun in her home. Joyce also discusses her opinion on Carlton interviewing strippers and says she doesn’t believe that is empowering woman like Carlton explains. Joyce was also glad to see Brandi made up with her father.

Joyce writes, “At the beginning of the episode we see Carlton auditioning girls to work the pole at her party. If that’s what you like, it’s fine, though I frankly don’t see how that is “empowering women.”

I am not entirely pro-gun, and I was always against having one in the house until we had to experience a real scare. A couple of years ago, we lived in a home that was in a private, very “safe” Beverly Hills area — or so I thought. On a Sunday night at 9 pm two guys were coming up to our home with ski masks and shot guns. It was frightening! I was lucky that my husband became my “King Kong” and larger than life, thumping his chest in front of the robbers, yelling “Get the f— out of my house.” My dog who is trained to attack, broke the window with her head. We always say that the robbers were probably more scared of the dog than anything else, and luckily they never entered the house.

After that we decided to get a gun to protect our babies, but until now, I had never been to a range to actually fire it. I’ve shot guns before for movie roles, but never a real gun. I was a bit nervous but between the instructor and my wonderful husband I felt very safe — and I must say pretty cool. It was quite an experience.

Now that my husband installed an insane alarm system in our new home, I hope I will never have to use the gun. But I do want to feel protected, because if anyone was to mess with my babies that’s the moment when I would become Lara Croft and do whatever needs to be done.

My husband and I always have fun together in everything we do. Some people call me crazy, but the reality is that I enjoy spending each second with him. He is not just my husband, he is my rock and my very best friend!

I really liked seeing Brandi fix things with her father, because life is so short that we can’t waste time being upset with the people we love.

Kyle’s family is beautiful and I love them! I admire the Shabbat tradition and no matter which faith you are of, there is nothing more wonderful than dedicating a certain day to spend time with your family and loved ones, absent of TV, phone, and other interruptions. Sophia is growing into an amazing young woman and her bat mitzvah was simply perfection.

I love doing girls’ get-togethers and organizing fun events for my friends. Even though Brandi and I had been on a very rocky road, I didn’t want to exclude her — so I decided to invite all the ladies to a self-defense class. It was nice to finally come together and all get along, leaving behind all the petty drama.

Sadly, almost all the ladies have been through crazy home invasion experiences, so I wanted them to learn some key points, so they know that you don’t necessarily need a gun to protect yourself. Lars is super nice and and a very patient trainer. Both Lars and Tamara made it a great day for the girls. I don’t believe in physical confrontation, and I think its not very ladylike but if anyone messes with me, it’s on. After all, I did grow up with a brother who taught me how to defend myself and fight.”

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting AllThingsRH.com was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.

This woman gets on my nerves! One reason is that she just comes across as completely phony, and a total know-it-all! It is disgusting. Joyce, you would be more likeable if you would relax a little bit and show some vulnerability and human-ness if that is a word. Quit “chastising” everyone for what you believe, personalily, to be their own particular faults and start admitting a few of your own. “Perfection” is not pretty. Show some character.

By the way, in my opinion, beauty pageants aren’t exactly empowering to women! Is it empowering strutting a catwalk in your bathing suite? That is not a lot of talent or intelligence required to do that; lots of vanity, though.

For someone whose family was nearly attacked by intruders in ski masks, Joyce took the firing range experience way too lightheartedly; she acted downright goofy and ditzy; “quit acting like a bimbo” Joyce! There is absolutely NOTHING funny about waving a loaded gun around like an idiot; guns need to be respected.

Joyce is pretty and intelligent but acted a dang fool with pistol in hand. The instructor was Not amused. Joyce, RELAX and enjoy yourself.

It is suspicious that the first time we hear about the attempted home invasion is on the RHOBH.
Weren’t the police called? The media would have surely reported the alleged crime if police were called.
