Joe Giudice Denied Alcohol Counseling in Prison

RHONJ star Teresa Giudice’s husband Joe, who is currently at Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix until March 2019, isn’t being allowed to participate in the alcohol counseling program.

If Joe were to complete the Residential Drug Abuse Program, he could potentially have a year taken off of his sentence.

The problem is because the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Joe when he entered prision back in 2016. Joe claims that prison authorities are improperly citing this ICE detainer in order to keep him out of the alcohol-abuse program, according to the Courier-Post.

Joe was born in Italy as many of you may know and moved to the United States when he was a year old. Joe never became an American citizen though and his mother Filomenia Giudice has blamed herself in the past for never having Joe naturalized as an American citizen.

Wow – moved her at one year old and never became a citizen – thats a long time. Yes, His mom should have handled that if she planned on living here forever or if he wanted to be a US citizen he could have handled it himself.
As far as alcohol counseling – it is ridiculous that they will deny any prisoner drug or alcohol counseling. That is doing the rest of the world a disservice. All jails need MORE alcohol/drug/mental health counseling!!!

I think the denial of treatment is an indication that he is going to be deported. If they were going to let him stay in the US, they probably would want him to complete treatment. Also, from my understanding, involvement in these treatment programs cut down on the jail time, but are quite expensive. They are only for US citizens. Joe had to be aware he is not a citizen because he had to have some sort of passport to travel to Italy. His parents could have taken care of the problem, but he’s a big boy and should have done it himself years ago.
