Erika Jayne Reveals There’s A Lot Of Traveling This Year On RHOBH

Erika Girardi returned to our TV-screens Tuesday night on the premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. While she has always remained an enigma, she is opening up about her experience on the show this year in a new interview.

“I never thought I’d ever be on a reality TV show ever, so the fact I’m on one, back for three seasons, and having a good time is amazing,” Erika says. When asked what fans can expect from the new season, she says it will be all about “lifestyle.”

She continued, “We travel a lot this year — Las Vegas, New York, Tokyo, Berlin. There’s a lot of lifestyle this year,” she says, adding that there will be plenty of drama to keep viewers interested. “What will be most interesting is a shift in friendships. Obviously, there’s a new housewife, [which is] great for the viewers and interesting.”

How does Erika feel about the newest Housewife, Teddi Mellencamp? “That’s for you guys and the audience to decide,” Erika tells Yahoo Entertainment. “I don’t want to give away too much. I think she’s got an interesting backstory and has something to say. We’ll see what everyone thinks.”

Girardi admits she is over pantygate and continues, “I think that it’s obvious by the trailer that Dorit and I have moved on from last year, which is something that I said [I wanted to do] at the final party last season.‘Let’s try, let’s go slow, let’s see what happens.’ It’s something we managed to do, so that’s different. It’s an evolution. The longer you’re on Housewives, the deeper your connections with the women become. You get to know everyone better each year and relationships become much more complex, and there are subtleties, and there are layers, and often that can create conflicts.”

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting AllThingsRH.com was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.

I got the impression last night that Dorit is claiming victim-hood for all her woes last year. All the poor-little-me cringing in her couch interviews. Rinna needs to give her a few lesson on “owning it”. You don’t ever accuse someone of being cold. That’s a psychological ploy to gain the upper hand. It’s like pointing out that someone is awfully shy. It does a number on their head and makes them more self-conscious. My biggest issue with Dorit was P.K. He’s skeevy.

Erika was right to give the two of them a smackdown. Now that she’s drawn a line in the sand, I’ll bet Dorit is more respectful.

Looking like Dorit and Erika are gonna be close this season

      • UnrealHousewife57

I do hope they get along but Erika is too smart to be sucked into a fake friendship.

        • Amanda Bates Barnette

There is just something about Dorit that rubs me wrong.. Lol.. I really try to like her and just can’t.

          • UnrealHousewife57

She is annoying with that fake accent, but I do like watching her changing hairstyles. I’d like her a lot better if there was no P.K. in the picture.
I’m chalking her up to first-year jitters. We’ll see how this season goes.

          • DaysofWineandRoses

She’s passive aggressive and is a “throw a rock and hide the hand” kind of girl, who then tries to pull off the old Jedi Mind Trick of flipping the script on her targets and claiming victimhood: case in point; she and PK went straight into the show with both guns blazing for Erika and Lipsa, and when they got back as good as they gave, now the narrative about the root of her issues with the other girls becomes ” Ohhh, Erika was so cold to me” and “I’m afraid of Rinna”… well Heiffer, you AND your Humpty Dumpty looking husband PROVOKED them: one of girls does not suffer fools, and the other is a hot blooded Italian firecracker who is not above cursing you the holy hell out on the flip of a dime, what did you expect? The problem with Dorit is that she is disingenuous and her husband is a busybody-seed planter.

  • kt

I haven’t seen the episode yet…always interested to hear your perspective first!!

  • kt

She’s amazing…that hair, I swear am gonna get some extensions!
I’ve read Dorit and Erika and friends/friendly this year, so Erika can forgive and forget sounds like?!
    Pervo – ugh!!!!
I’ll try today..let’s see wrap presents, clean house, get ready for Christmas or watch RHWOBH…hmmmm?

  • kt

I may need a nap too!!
OOOOoooo victim mode is never a good look. Would like to see her have a backbone!

  • Amanda Bates Barnette

I’m really liking Teddi so far a well.

  • UnrealHousewife57

The only thing about Erika that I don’t like is her foul language. I can drop eff bombs with the best of them and I love how she took ownership of the C U Next Tuesday, but save it when you really want to make a point. Don’t waste them in casual chatting in your talking head interviews.

    • Rain

I agree with you!! That DSL thing was completely unnecessary. She needs to know her audience and right now she seems clueless about that

      • Real Sandy

Yes, I know. But Andy Cohen seemed to like that comment. He did not know what it meant before…so he said…but he heard it before..no surprise there!
I agree with you one hundred percent!

        • Rain

She needs to be smart and understand her audience. Yes she spends most of her time with gay men who may talk that way , but the viewers of this show are mostly women, and that’s not what they want to hear

  • Amy Cooper

I don’t know about anyone else but I have noticed a change in the show. Last night it seemed as though it’s all about rich person’s toys. The glam squads, the designer clothes and bags and of course Kyle’s private plane. Now I love to see the beautiful houses of the rich and famous but last night it seemed different as though they are flaunting their pricey possessions. I know that most people on social security make less in a year than what that bag of Kyle’s costs. I want to see the relationships not the designer crap they have, it really rubbed me the wrong way. This has always been my favorite housewives franchise but if this stuff doesn’t stop, I won’t be watching past the 2nd episode.

    • UnrealHousewife57

I hear you, Amy, but I’ve seen too many comments on the blogs stating that fans want to see the clothes, houses and trips. It seems to me that only BH and NYC have true wealth with the odd one on the other franchises being quite wealthy. For the most part I think it’s a lot of pretending. Quite frankly, I think spending $14,000 on a purse is really stupid, but that’s just me. As Shania Twain says,”That don’t impress me.”

      • Amy Cooper

Yes UnrealHousewife57, I too have seen the comments on the blogs regarding the clothes, the houses and such. NYC does not seem as shallow about their wealth as the women of BH have become. I never did understand why people would want a show comprised of “things” over relationship but of all the Housewives BH’s seems to be the most shallow and gawdy, bringing in women that don’t know each other who have to one up the other with their bling and wealth. Looks like I won’t be watching this year.

        • UnrealHousewife57

Well, let’s face it. Nobody would tune in to see the Real Housewives of Poughkeepsie. (no insult to the residents of Poughkeepsie. 😉

          • Real Sandy

But it has a nice ring to it!
I have been to Poughkeepsie. No way anyone would watch! (The views along the Hudson are gorgeous though.)
I watch BH and NY especially, to see how the uber rich live…and see all the nice sites for vacations, etc. It would be quite boring, as you said, otherwise.

            • HuckabeesWonkyEye

Exactly. This. If one doesn’t like seeing rich wives on a show entitled “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” then hunty, they’re watching the wrong show LOL.

          • HuckabeesWonkyEye

I mean, seriously. Sorry, this IS Beverly Hills. Hell, it’s the whole SoCal region. Fake, materialistic, “Tory Burch yogis”. I WANT to see their expensive shit. I like it. My bathroom is the size of Yolanda’s fridge. I like seeing the extravagance. Watch NPR if you want substance.

            • UnrealHousewife57

              Haha! Yolanda’s fridge! So true.

        • UnrealHousewife57

Believe it or not, I find the relationships more interesting. I’m often curious as to how some women still get sucked into High School drama. I’m fascinated by how they can deny they said something and then get shown the video and they still deny it (think Vicki). I’m amazed at how incredibly stupid some of the women are (think Ramona and Vicki again) and wonder how they amassed such wealth or “won over” a wealthy husband (think Kelly Bensimmon). Or they’re totally crazy and think that everyone else has the issues (think Aviva and Jules) Or they hear something that wasn’t said. (Siggy) Or they think their scripted actions aren’t obvious. (think Gretchen) That’s really why I watch.

    • Frank Van Der Heijden

The thing is that those Birk bags, the bling, the champagne and the glam squads are everything those women have to show, other than that they live in a bubble, they do not have real lives, and probably their relationships are crap and everything we see is a façade. Many of them would end up doing crack or drinking like a fish (probably some of them do already) because they would not how to cope with the problems most of people have in their daily lives. I remember when Yolanda Foster got Lyme`s disease and it was a huge drama, or they get something minor and claim that their lives were at risk and cry oceans. I find the show funny and sad at the same time

      • HuckabeesWonkyEye

“Many of them would end up doing crack or drinking like a fish (probably some of them do already) because they would not how to cope with the problems most of people have in their daily lives.”

My god, exactly. They’d crumble under the unrelenting pressure of having to get their own gas LOL.

  • UnrealHousewife57

I think she does herself and her husband a disservice by speaking that way. It’s not a good look on her. She’s better than that, IMO.

  • Real Sandy

You mean Humpty Dumpty? He looks quite rotund, yes.
A Bentley or a Lamborghini and Birkin bags…what more does a girl need?
Do you think that a Birkin could fit over PK’s head?

  • Real Sandy

Yes, that is not a Connecticut accent yet again, and the choice of words, like “whilst” is not quite the usual here in the states. Dorit does not sound like Madonna in her trying to be a Brit days, but she is trying.
Was that a renovation they were showing? Did Dorit go live with her mom in Florida? It sounded that way.
    Yes, the kids were adorable!
    🙂

  • Real Sandy

I was saying he looked like Humpty Dumpty. Mr. Potato Bod (more than head) could work too!
I also watched late…fell asleep when it was on and watched it last night completely. I love that hotel suite…and Dorito was not happy she did not get the Presidential Suite?!

  • Real Sandy

Then maybe the owner is renovating it? I doubt they would buy their rental. Posers.
    LOVE YOU too, Rain! XO

  • HuckabeesWonkyEye

LOVE Teddi’s description of this one “She’s too cool for school”. Or at least, she thinks she is. In reality, she’s just a sad middle-aged gold digging queen (not the good kind of queen). While I do appreciate her giving the single finger salute to frumpy dumpy dowdy millennials who tell women our age to “act your age” (whatever that even means), she’s so incredibly garishly overdone that I just see her as sort of a sad Baby-Jane caricature. Her attitude is stank, her ego is completely out of control and she just really looks silly. I love her show intro though. Hugging her raisin sitting in his chair LOL. Hunty, he’s your lifeline. Without his dough you’d be at the piggly wiggly asking “paper or plastic?”

  • Amanda Bates Barnette

Since there’s been no new post since the last show, I have to say Erika(who I love) was very rude to Teddy and I didn’t like it.
