Cynthia Bailey: It Was Awkward Seeing Phaedra Uncomfortable

Cynthia Bailey is dishing on new RHOA cast member Demetria McKinney and Phaedra’s awkward run-in with Apollo in a new interview with Bravo. Cynthia says it was extremely awkward seeing Phaedra so uncomfortable when Apollo showed up during Demetria’s launch party.

Bravotv.com: How surprised were you when Demetria revealed that she’s been dating Roger Bobb for 8 years?
Cynthia Bailey: Demetria and I met a couple of years ago and have always been friendly. We have a few mutual friends and travel in some of the same social circles. My impression of her has always been that she is smart, kind, beautiful, funny, and very talented. We were never close until recently, so yes, I was very surprised to learn that she and Roger were dating. Let alone for 8 years! LOL! Peter and I met Roger Bobb about 5 years ago when we first moved to Atlanta. He is a great guy, and we have always shared an amazing friendship/business relationship, but never concerned ourselves with his personal life. Now that Demetria and Roger’s secret has been revealed, I am happy these two love birds no longer have to hide in their nests and are free to fly off into the sunset.

Bravotv.com: Do you agree that you’re the Charlotte of the group?
CB: Let’s face it — we all want to be Carrie Bradshaw! Carrie Bradshaw is Sex and the City! Although all of the ladies will disagree, I really don’t see myself as Charlotte. Well, not entirely anyway. I see a little of all of the ladies in myself:
Charlotte: Quirky, etiquette, loyal, polished, and classy
Samantha: Sexy, outgoing, fun, and mature
Miranda: Business, analytical, frugal, structured, and organized
Carrie: Stylish, free spirit, supportive, and independent

Bravotv.com: Was it more awkward when Apollo showed up or when Demetria’s music video didn’t play?
CB: I did not think that it was awkward that Apollo showed up to Demetria’s event. Peter and I were told that all the ladies and their husbands were invited, which is why Peter came with me. I had not seen Phaedra and Apollo together since the reunion, and they appeared to be very united as husband and wife. In the past, regardless of whatever issues may have been going on behind closed doors, in public (or at least when I have been in their presence) Phaedra has always carried herself as a loving and supportive wife. It was awkward to see her so uncomfortable.

  1. Cynthia is sure changing her tune now- she was quite the bish on the show when it happened snarking ” Your slip is showing.”

  2. Just as I’m sure it was awkward for Phaedra to see Cynthia snarking about her in that position. Sorry Cynthia, you’ve got Kenya’s trash all over you, and you can’t shake it off that easily.
