Cynthia Bailey Admits Her Divorce Made Her Feel Like a Failure

After six years of marriage, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey has decided to end her marriage to Peter Thomas and we are seeing that play out on the show this season, but in a new interview, Bailey is admitting that her divorce made her feel like a failure.

However, she says the fact that the divorce is amicable makes things easier. “I think just because I’m pretty peaceful in my decision, I knew that I just would get through it. I knew that I didn’t want it to be this ugly, drag-Peter-through-the-mud-divorce-type situation. I’ve seen it happen time and time again on TV amongst reality stars and just regular people. I didn’t want to do that,” Cynthia told The Daily Dish. “I love Peter. We’ve just come to the end of the road for me. That’s just my personal breaking point.”

So when did she know that she wanted to end the marriage? “There’s always things, whether it’s little things or big things. Sometimes, those little things become big things. There’s always signs, there’s always that unrest inside of you that feels like, ‘Hmmm, I wonder if this is for me,'” she said. “It’s hard.”

Cynthia said her divorce from Peter is “not completely finalized” yet. “However, we have agreed on all of the terms. There’s a couple things that we’re working out,” she shared. “So it’s just a matter of days at this point. It’s gonna be over soon.”

“You kind of feel like a failure because it didn’t work out,” she said. “And then you feel like you have to be strong, but some days you don’t really feel like it. Some days, you’re just like, ‘Look, it is what it is.'”

But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the right decision for her. “I feel like a weight has been lifted. We’ve been having some issues for a while. I think I just have peace. I think when you feel better, you look better,” she explained. “I’m in a good place. I’m just excited. I’m excited about what the future holds.”

    1. There’s only one to date. The rest are rumors started by Porsha and I wouldn’t put much stock in them as she simply needs things to say to kick up dust for social media relevancy to keep her Peach on the show. When it comes to philandering in my community, side pieces and “jump-offs” (i.e. casual girlfriends, sexual partners or women of dubious sexual practices) generally come forward at first opportunity for payoff or a good 15 minutes in the spotlight. Our entertainment blogs are chock full of women (and, men, cough cough) who salivate just to get their “gotcha” stories out there. If Peter was truly up to something, he would have long been outed just for some Bitter Betty to get the satisfaction of having his/her name associated with a Bravo production. The practice is so out of hand they’re now contacting production companies and and blogs directly to get their fame mongering in. As we will soon see with Apollo’s new financé on RHOA this year. The thirst is real, indeed, in the land of peaches.
