Brandi Redmond and Stephanie Hollman Dish on RHOD

The Real Housewives of Dallas premieres tonight on Bravo and cast members Brandi Redmond and Stephanie Hollman stopped by Jenny McCarthy’s SiriusXM radio show “Dirty, Sexy, Funny” today to promote the show.

The women admit the casting process was “really fast,” Stephanie said. “Brandi and I just acted special the whole time and they loved it, I guess.”

The crazy came as soon as filming began, they explained. “The drama just happened. When you have crazy, it’s a no-brainer.” That “crazy” is castmate LeeAnne Locken. They describe LeeAnne as not just “crazy,” but “bossy” – and Tiffany Hendra is under her manicured thumb, according to RealityTea, who recapped the show.

“I feel like it’s Star Wars and you’re hanging out with, like, Darth Vader,” Stephanie joked. “And we’re Jar Jar Binks!”

“You kinda feel sorry for Tiffany because she has to hang out with ‘Bossy’ (aka LeeAnne),” Brandi added.

“We didn’t know it was Housewives when we were filming… they told us waaaay afterwards. The entire time we filmed we had no idea. In my mind, I felt like I was making a home video no one was gonna see,” Stephanie explained. They learned they had filmed Real Housewives Of Dallas the day before they filmed the title shoot, and Bravo required them to hold a star.

Stephanie admits she’s gotten a lot of flack for the traditional roles in her marriage and that her husband makes her do chores to earn money. Her husband Travis is indifferent. “Travis really doesn’t care what people think about him. I feel like he would let the cameras walk in while he was taking a poop,” she admitted. “I try to have him travel a lot.”

Brandi and her husband went to therapy before filming to avoid the reality TV divorce curse. “I did therapy the whole way through filming too. I just wanted to make sure I was communicating, that I was keeping my priorities straight… a lot of times I would cry about the girls, you know.”

So how could the show affect their friendship? “We’re not mean to each other. Do we give each other sh*t, maybe, on the show? Yes, but that’s just how our friendship is,” Stephanie explained.

Brandi adds, “We don’t really fight. Our friendship’s healthier than most marriages!”

Jenny warned the ladies about the viciousness of the Housewives. “Honestly, I’m really scared of that,” Stephanie admitted. “It’s gonna be hard to hear things about yourself that you don’t want to hear. For the first time in my life I feel extremely judged.”

Brandi has “thicker skin,” partially from her past as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader when she was “always ridiculed” and “compared” to others. “I’m gonna focus on the people who support me and love me, and everybody else can just f*ck off!”

Are you excited for RHOD?

My name is Nicki. I am 32 years-old and married to my best friend. I was previously in business for over 12 years, but I’ve always had a great passion for web and graphic design. Another one of my passions, of course, is to escape into the world of TV, which is where this journey began. My goal in starting was to give fans, like myself, a place to catch up on all the latest news and gossip about The Real Housewives. I wanted to create a place where viewers could interact with each other, share their opinions, and get straight-forward and unbiased information about what’s going on. I am proud of the diversity this site has to offer.

So…the one in pink used to be a “he” ?

  • Jane

These women are an embarrassment to the Dallas women. Was Bravo that desperate

    • Brand

Are you from Dallas? I wonder how women from Dallas feel about the show

    • I see it’s your usual positive view of things there Brandy.

      • Suze☕️

Yup I agree especially in her comment underneath, Jakes signature comment followed by ‘lol’ so predictable! Getting boring, I just wish she was honest about it! Xo
I was thinking of you when I woke last nightxxxxxxxx❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Justmedoubleb

I just started the episode and these two come off phony and very aware of the cameras…trying too hard. Gonna give it a chance though. I don’t understand how they can’t know they are filming housewives. How could they be that obtuse.

    • Brand

      That’s funny lol

    • Suze☕️

Hi doubleD I haven’t watched yet I thought I would wait and see what the comments were. I’m always a day behind in UK anyway! At the moment I don’t think I can be bothered!

      • Justmedoubleb

Hi Size! I’m gonna give it one, maybe two more episodes if I can. It seems contrived (the feud that started) and their little mouse voices and fake laughter got on my nerves. I’m looking forward to what you think cause maybe I’m just in a crabby mood.

        • Suze☕️

DoubleD I’m always in a crabbit mood welcome to the club! Keep me informed I will wait another week I think to see! Xo

  • apple

I am going to stick with it…not in prime time…but I will tape it and watch it when I can’t find anything better.

    • Suze☕️

Let me know what you think, it’s a pain to find a decent recording on YouTube for me so not worth my while if it’s no good. I would like your take on it even if we disagree on NJ!

  • Naynay

Did anybody notice Brandi, she looked like a totally different person in her talking head, it was confusing. I don’t have an opinion yet just that it had some pretty immature ladies, but we’ll see.

    • Yes, Naynay. I said they ( Bravo ) must have poorly lit every scene she is in. She looks ugly like most drunk women IMO. I am not and never will say a woman doesn’t have the right to be drunk. What she doesn’t have the right to do, IMO, is be drunk every day while she is talking out the side of her mouth saying she is focusing on raising her children. Now THAT pisses me off. She brags about her juice for lunch every day. Hey, & maybe and I don’t know, she has a bus picking them up every day? I really hope so. Her and her little friend are whining in a way I taught my kids not to when they were 2.

  • Debbie. Mcguire

Dumb and Dumber, this show sucks!

  • Brand

    I thought it was boring

I tried watching it but it just seemed like more of the same…. Bravo needs a new schtick!

    • Suze☕️

I don’t thnk,I’m going to bother I usually like the same as you! Xoxo

      • GIGICAT

How are you doing gorgeous???? Doing okay?

  • Michelle

Phew!!! Hang on ladies and gents. We’re in for a bumpy ride.

I have so much to say and so little space to type it in…….Actually, as the season unfolds I shall say more. Right now I’ll just observe.

    • The pages are unlimited here so I for one am looking forward to anything you have to say. 🙂

I love the show, especially the scenes where Brandi. Stephani and Cary almost send LeeAnne Locken into a cardiac arrest. That women needs something, she is a total coconut. Being a native Dallas girl now residing in the NYC area, its fun to see familiar places through this show.
