A tragedy reunited Real Housewives of New York City stars Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin at the funeral for Jill’s husband Bobby.
During the very emotional episode, Jill told Bethenny, “I’m alone now. I don’t know what I’m going to do without him. What am I going to do? I haven’t been alone since I was 20 years old.”
Bethenny replied, “We’re all alone. I’m alone too. But you have good friends.”
Later, Frankel took her daughter Bryn to meet Zarin.
“The whole way up here, I explained [to Bryn], ‘This is a girl I used to be friends with.’ I said, ‘I want you to be so sweet and give her a hug and she’ll freak out because she never met you,’” Bethenny told costar Sonja Morgan. “She died. She couldn’t believe she was meeting Bryn. Bryn gave her a hug, Bryn said, ‘Hi Bobby,’ like to the pictures. It was so sweet. She’s like, ‘Oh my God.’”
As for being reunited, Bethenny told the cameras, “Let me just keep this where it is right now. I was burned. If she reaches out, I reach out back. I’m happy we had closure, I’m happy I came to the funeral, but I just want to keep it where it is.”
As for the passing of Bobby, Jill is opening up about the experience of losing her husband.
“It’s kind of like a big blur, to be honest. There were a thousand people there at 8 o’clock in the morning, from TMZ or whatever, and they were there an hour and a half early; it was freezing out, I felt so bad,” Jill shared on The Daily Dish podcast. “I stayed inside for I don’t know how long, half hour, 45 minutes, meeting, greeting people. It was weird, almost like a wedding, a reception line.”
As for Bethenny coming to the funeral? “I didn’t know she was coming to the funeral,” Jill revealed. “I knew that other Housewives were coming. I knew that Luann [de Lesseps] obviously couldn’t make it; she was a little tied up. She came to my apartment a lot; she had seen Bobby a few days before, she came to the hospital. She was an amazing friend. Kelly Bensimon came a lot. Ramona [Singer] came to the hospital quite a few times. Dorinda [Medley] came with John; we were good friends with them as a couple and I knew Dorinda a long time. Sonja [Morgan] was there; I didn’t see her but I know she was there. I had Marla Maples [come]. Marysol [Patton] from Florida. Eric Trump came, he snuck in … I was honored they paid their respects to Bobby. It was a beautiful funeral; I’ll never forget it.”
