Are Things Really Better Between Joe Gorga & His Parents? Rich Wakile Says It’s Going To Take Time…

Wakile

Just one day before the fight between Joe Giudice and Joe Gorga aired on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Wetpaint spoke with Rich Wakile at Jill Zarin’s first annual Luxury Ladies’ Luncheon on July 13th! Rich dishes on how the fight ends and what’s in store for season 6 of the show! Check out his interview below.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Tell us about this retreat!

Richie Wakile: It was a great time.

Really? Because it looks like things turned violent!

Well listen, I’ve always said, things have to get crazy before they get better. And in Jersey’s case, it might seem violent to the rest of the world, but to us, it’s normal.

Do things improve after the weekend?

They get much better DURING the weekend.

You know, these aren’t just hired cast members, this is your real-life family. Does it upset you to see all the drama play out the way it does?

It’s my family through marriage. So is it stressful for me? Not really. Is it stressful for my wife? Definitely.

And this season, everyone’s parents sort of become involved. How has that been?

Well you know what, as the seasons come and go, when you have issues within a family, it’s like an onion. You peel it and you find new things. As for the parents, I think things are going to get exposed. Maybe not this season, but down the line. I hope it does. Right now, the parents are still not involved.

So the parents are going to play a bigger role next season?

I don’t know. That’s all I can say. I don’t know yet.

Are you tired of the show yet? Are you down for another season?

I’m down. I’m down. I love this. It’s like a party. I’m not that emotionally involved. I mean, I am to some extent. My wife gets very emotional. It’s her family, it’s her blood. But you know who I feel bad for? My kids and the other kids involved. They don’t get to see each other the way they should. And I feel bad for Joe Gorga and what he’s going through with his parents because of what’s going on.

But if things start to get better between him and Teresa, won’t they get better between him and his parents too?

Everything takes time. It’s going to take time.
