Apollo Nida was sentenced to 8 years in prison for identity theft and fraud charges, and now Nida is speaking out in an interview and is sharing some juicy tidbits. Nida says his restitution payment was initially $14 million, he doesn’t believe his marriage to Phaedra Parks will survive, and he took the fall for several other people involved in the fraud scheme.
Nida spoke to B100 and RealityTea is reporting the details of his interview.
“It’s hell. Hell on wheels. I’ve asked god to forgive me. I’ve forgiven myself. I had to move on. From there I just had to bite down, I was going through so much,” Nida says of his sentencing. “It doesn’t make you less of a man to cry and shed tears. I’ve shed tears. I’m just upset at how I was raised and to possibly be taking my son through the same thing. But by the grace of God he’s still young and we have many years ahead of us. I just can’t make those same mistakes. It’s all on me.”
“A lot of people could be held accountable, but at the end of the day, it’s over with now. We’ll pay back the $1.9 million and keep going. By the grace of God I was able to get that down. It [restitution] was $14 million,” Apollo admits.
When asked if he believes his marriage to Phaedra Parks will survive, Nida says, “I doubt it. I mean, my wife didn’t even f***ing show up for my sentencing. I’m still salty about that. Whatever.”
He continues, “I love my kids, coming from a non-mother/non-father background, at the end of the day, I feel most sad and disappointed that I let my little men down. It is what it is and you must go and pay/contribute to the piper. And come on back and be graceful about it and keep my head high.”
