Most RHONJ fans remember the 2013 brawl that took place at Kim D’s opening of POSCHE 2. Now, a new report states that Andy Cohen and NBC have been added to a lawsuit filed regarding the incident.
On March 31, 2013 John Karagiorgis and his wife Penny Karagiorgis attended an event at the Moxie Salon that was filmed for the TV show. The night ended in a brutal brawl. Later that year, the Karagiorgis’ filed a lawsuit against Joe Gorga, Chris Laurita and Jacqueline Laurita, which was never closed.
According to court documents filed in January 2015, the Karagiorgis’ have added NBC, the parent network of Bravo and Andy Cohen to their lawsuit, accusing both parties of “gross negligence.”
The original lawsuit claims that Gorga and Christopher Laurita punched John “in the face and/or head with a closed fist,” and that Jacqueline “unlawfully attacked John Karagiorgis by striking him on the head and/or face with a stiletto-type shoe.”
The couple claims they “have suffered but are not limited to bruising, scarring, disfigurement, fractured bones, facial lacerations, mental anguish, psychological health problems, physical discomfort, pain and suffering, economic losses, and shame and embarrassment.”
In the addendum obtained by RadarOnline, Cohen and NBC are accused of “[preparing] a plan by which cast members were going to verbally confront, physically assault, and/or unlawfully attack John Karagiorgis.”
The couple claims that RHONJ cast members, Cohen and NBC had devised a “plan and/or conspiracy to act in concert to humiliate and/or to create a verbal and/or physical altercation with Plaintiffs that could foreseeably result in the injuries that Plaintiffs have suffered.”
John’s rep tells the site, “Based on new information, after a thorough investigation, video and sworn statements, any and all additional parties will be exposed and prosecuted.”
