Amber Marchese Reveals She Has Lyme Disease

Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Amber Marchese has revealed that she has Lyme disease. “I was officially diagnosed last week,” she shared in a new interview.

“About two weeks ago, I had flu-like symptoms which included a low grade fever, headache, aches, chills, join pain and awful neck pain,” she recalled. “I posted my condition on social media and a friend suggested I get tested for Lyme disease. She shared with me her struggles with Lyme disease and we shared many of the same symptoms.”

Amber is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer and said she requested she be tested at her oncologist’s office.

“I am very fortunate as I caught it so early that no treatment is necessary,” she told ET. “But we are going to monitor it.”

“If I thought about the joint pain, then the pain increased. When I ignored it, got my butt to the gym, it went away,” she explained. “I believe in the power of the mind. You are sick if you want to be sick, you are well if you want to be well. That is just the way I choose to live my life.”

“I feel really blessed that I caught it before it is too late,” she shared. “I know so many people suffering from this disease and it sounds horrific.”

  1. don’t you have to take antibiotic right away cancer treatment might kill lyme but I would think to be safe a that she should of went to her family doctor maybe her time is short and cancer is worse who knows lyme gets worse not better

  2. Of course she does! If you ask any reputable doctor they will tell you Lyme Disease is curable with a short bout of antibiotics. It’s the same as fibromyalgia, all bs! These women get depressed because they are getting old and want an excuse to lay around and complain about fatigue, etc. Yolanda and now this one are totally full of shit.

    1. You have no idea what you’re talking about because IF you did you wouldn’t use shallow & callous words. Your ignorance on the topic is unfortunately typical. I understand and know too well. It’s not a joke, it’s not menopause, it’s real, it sucks, it hurts and it can be life stealing if you don’t stay on top of it. Get educated please.

      1. yes Lyme is if it is not treated right away but for her oncologist to say oh you will be fine is BS she can do chemo and you would think she can do antibiotic also she needs to see a doctor not her oncologist for this issue it is all fine and dandy he did the test but he blew Lyme like it is not a issue if she gets well from Cancer she will feel like crap cause the Lyme will get worse

    2. Fibro is not curable and whoever said it is ,is full of it and Sorry but it is real ..many times it is a BFF with other diseases they piggyback together

        1. I forgot to sign in, I’m Anonymous. I have Fibromyalgia, that’s what I was referring to in particular. Thank you missrox. ♥️

          1. Miss Moneypenny I to have Fibro with MS ,DDD,Cervical 3 level fusion and had a positive test for Lyme but I morel mushroom hunt use those nasty sprays now to avoid ticks so far spray deep woods off works when they find a cure I will be dancin’ in the streets

    3. Curable in the very early stages. Untreated Lyme Disease becomes chronic, as recent Mayo Clinic press releases about ‘Chronic Lyme Disease’ document. Neurological Lyme Disease is quite hard to treat, as well, and can become chronic even more quickly. Word.

    4. nycbunny, please educate yourself before saying those of us with autoimmune diseases “want an excuse to lay around.” I have Fibro and have missed many important family events. My family is my everything and I would never miss out on that much life just to be lazy.
Having said that, Lyme disease causes your body to attack itself in many cases. Cancer does same. I’m not trying to say they go hand in hand but it’s only logical that she is very immunosuppresed due to chemo which makes your body so susceptible to other illnesses. I can’t stand Amber or her sleeze-bag husband but I think it’s a sad day when we try to say someone is faking having the “fad” disease of moment.

  3. She also has a tiny mean little husband who may or may not be abusive and has cancer…again.
Lyme is the least of her problems.
I like her…I hope she beats it all and then moves on.

  4. She caught it early and no treatment is necessary? She needs antibiotics. Did she mean she only needed oral antibiotics and no more invasive treatment is necessary like IV antibiotics? It makes no sense. Why catch it early if you don’t treat it?

  5. Gosh, Amber should have this conversation with Yolanda. Amber’s attitude is inspiring, dealing with breast cancer & now Lymme Disease.
